Are dental implants easy to maintain?

A dental implant is a small titanium “screw” which is placed using local anaesthetic in the jawbone to replace of the natural missing tooth. Once healed the artificial root acts as a base for fixing individual ‘teeth’ or multiple teeth, as a bridge.

This means they not only look like your natural teeth but they also hold the stability that your natural teeth do. Therefore maintaining your dental implants is pretty much like maintaining your natural teeth.

Our implants are based on three key areas: science, innovation and service, supporting a commitment to improving the quality of life for people with missing teeth.

How Long Do Dental Implants Last?

We believe that alongside the correct care and fitted by only the best implant experts, dental implants can last over thirty years, and in most cases should last you the rest of your life. Our team of experts in dental implants is led by Dr Philip Broughton and Dr Alejandro Balerdi, both of whom are proven masters in bone grafting, soft tissue grating and advanced surgical skills, based on twenty years’ and thousands of hours of study to help them refine their techniques.  Their quest for improvement and further knowledge has seen them undertake training in Brazil, France, Norway, Portugal, the USA and Italy, where they have worked alongside some of the foremost experts in dental implants.

Are They Easy To Look After?

Look after your implants as you would your natural teeth. In fact, your hygiene regime is probably easier and more convenient than keeping dentures clean. Simply brush twice a day with a softer brush, ideally electric, use fluoride toothpaste and ensure you have your teeth professionally cleaned every 3 months by our hygienist to ensure there is no tartar or plaque build up.  Our team will recommend correct cleaning techniques and will always be here to offer ongoing support.
